Rental Instrument Renewal / Return

It's time to either Renew or Return your rental instrument! Check your email for specific instructions from either Mr. Fox or Mr. Todd. All instruments & cases must be cleaned!

Brass family - Clean the instrument using lukewarm water and a little liquid dish soap. Make sure you remove all slides and valves and use a 'snake' to clean the lead pipe and other tubing (not the valve casings). Clean the mouthpiece with a mouthpiece brush and very warm water. After drying thoroughly oil valves well, use slide grease on all slides. Finally, polish the instrument to remove finger marks with a soft cloth lightly moistened with Windex.

Woodwinds (with a reed) - Clean the mouthpiece using liquid soap and lukewarm water and scrub with mouthpiece brush. Throw out used reeds! Use a soft brush to remove dust, lint, etc. under the keys (be careful). Check for sticky keys and fix with cigarette / powder papers (look at your Care & Maintenance guide for instructions). Use Q-tips to clean the finger holes. Finally, polish the instrument to remove finger marks, etc. with a soft cloth lightly moistened with Windex.

Flutes - Sterilize the head joint only by washing in warm water with liquid soap. Use a soft brush to remove dust, lint, etc. under the keys (be careful). Check for sticky keys and fix with cigarette / powder papers (look at your Care & Maintenance guide for instructions). Finally, polish the instrument to remove finger marks with a soft cloth lightly moistened with Windex.

*There will be additional charges for: missing supplies, instruments (cases) not cleaned, or new dents / repairs due to "mishaps" over the past 10 months. Please make sure you return all supplies (cork grease, cleaning cloths, oils, mouth piece brush, reedguards, 'snake', etc.) that came with your instrument.

*Instruments returned should have cases thoroughly vacuumed, cases cleaned on the outside, plus hand wash and dry all maintenance supplies.
