Whistler Music Festival
April 26 - April 30, 2012
The Whistler Music Festival is a four day event which turns beautiful Whistler Village into the festival campus. Participants arrive Thursday afternoon and early Thursday evening, there is a reception for participating directors and festival adjudicators. Friday morning and afternoon is adjudication day for Concert Bands. Each ensemble receives a 30 minute adjudicated performance followed by a one hour workshop . Saturday, Concert Band participants attend workshops designed to build on the strengths of each ensemble. Saturday night the tables turn as our participants become the audience for the Gala Concert. To close the festival, all of our participants come together to create two ensembles: The Festival Massed Chorus, and the Festival Massed Band. Sunday morning begins with the Massed Choir working together to raise the roof with their voices and is followed by the foundation shaking sound of the Massed Band.

Trip Participation Eligibility
An exciting part of being in Band is being able to go on Band Trips. These trips are meant to be educational, as well as fun. However, trips are a privilege not an expectation. To earn the possibility of going on a band trip, you have to:
1. Be at all rehearsals with all the needed supplies; you must have less than 3 unexcused absences.
2. Practice and know your music to the best of your ability.
3. Demonstrate appropriate behaviour at all times.
4. Wear appropriate concert dress.
5. Hand in trip forms and payments (or fundraising) on time.
